Based on the reviews, I assumed that this book would provide a kid with a very basic education about fossils. Well, it doesn't. It doesn't tell how fossils are formed (except for a mold fossil). It doesn't discuss the age of fossils. It gives the impression that dinosaurs are the only fossils. It would make you think that fossils are massive things, dug from hard rock. What it is, is a history of early paleontology. It spends almost the entire book on whos who in early paleontology and very little on basic fossil education. If you want a book that will provide a basic understanding of fossils, keep digging.
outstanding book for our 4 year old grandson - very educational and well written so he could grasp the concept of how fossils are formed.
It's a really cute book, my son loved it! We even used it for our photo shoot!
My son is way into dinosaurs and fossils. This book was a good find. For a small price it provides my son a nice guide to how fossils are formed and some history on paleontology. A good purchase!
Bought this book for our Grandsons, who absolutely love everything about dinosaurs and fossils.
Very happy with my order. My son was very happy
My son really liked it
