I am not a legal eagle---Not into mystery novels or NCIS. But this book had me hooked at the very beginning with the account of arrests of women for minor traffic offenses (e.g. unpaid parking tickets) and taken to jail where they were stripped searched---including body cavity searches. No such treatment for men. At worst, they got a pat down. I was astonished to learn that the Right to Privacy was NOT part of our constitution.I found the book entirely thought-provoking, it kept my interest and generated some animated conversation with houseguests.

I enjoyed this book, even though it is heavy on legal court cases. Don't let that fool you, though, it's not a legal reference. This book covers significant cases in privacy using a very interesting approach. There a interviews and behind-the-scenes stories that explain what happened, how the plaintiff felt, and what the outcome was.If you liked this book you will love "The Digital Umbrella." It is a great compliment to this book.

To describe the reading experience of this book as compelling, gripping, spellbinding, or captivating might sound weird, but that was I have felt while reading this book. I am certain to say that this book is much more interesting and attention-grabbing than many thrillers or crime novels.The authors have done a marvelous job in integrating seamlessly a variety of court cases with their implications and impacts on privacy issues. They have told and re-told the wealth of different stories in a way that any reader would be so into them instantly. Their way of story-telling are not only very human and sympathetic - to both victims and the accused - but also very well-balanced in explaining why things are panning out that way.Their analyses and comments on a range of privacy issues also appear very thoughtful, well-rounded, superbly balanced, and therefore insightful that could endure a test of significant periods of time.Lots of things - legislation, regulations, torts, policies, procedures, perceptions, awareness, etc. - have been changed since this book was published more than 10 years ago. However, the implications, lessons learned, and commonalities from the cases dealt with in this book seem still very relevant and meaningful. Guth dedicates a significant portion of his book to outlining common supplier tactics for manipulating or at least steering procurement people. Each tactic has a clever name, a definition and tips on how to react. Key to Guth's philosophy on managing suppliers is that less information is more, and that meetings should happen on the buyer's terms and turf. The tactics seem a little light at first passing, but it is hard to deny that from a human behavior perspective Guth has us all pegged in one category or another. It is easy to feel smug reading about the tactics that other people fall prey to, but once you recognize your own habits described in reaction to a tactic, you know it. Then you can focus on the reasons you've been doing what you're doing, what the consequences may be, and how to combat the tactic in the future. The book could use more in the way of third party references or substantiation - I happen to like quotes and additional reading lists, but that's me. Guth does say right up front that the book is a representation of his experiences, and he is true to that. The last section of the book is a very practical guide to common contract sections and how to negotiate them - confidentiality, terms v. conditions, limitation of liability. He is a lawyer after all. I recently received this book in Kindle & paperback version. My staff and I are using this book as a guide while we craft our first SaaS template as a Service Provider and also negotiate a couple of other SaaS agreement where we are the subscriber. I've not read the entire book yet but the sections I've read were very helpful. The method by which Mr. Guth dissects the various components of the template helps us to focus in on what we should doing (or not) and helps generate discussions of alternative methods or strategies. [Disclaimer: I'm Stephen's friend and we talk frequently about these topics.]The simple truth is that there aren't that many good resources available for people who negotiate contracts, and virtually none of them are written for someone who is a contract professional and sees vendor ploys on a consistent basis. This would seem to not necessarily be a huge deal - you wouldn't think that a negotiation handbook would need to be written to that specific of an audience.Contract professionals, however, are in a really strange position. We tend to see these ploys so many times and in so many forms that it is sometimes hard to catch the nuances. In other words, we become SO immersed in the shades of gray that we can't tell which shade is lighter or darker.Stephen's book delineates each shade of gray. He takes each ploy, breaks it down to its component parts and explains the mechanisms by which it works (and how to counter it). Then he turns the tables to discuss buyer tactics and their operation.Additionally, the Contract Negotiation Handbook covers specific language negotiation on several key contractual terms - which very few other publications even attempt. Lastly, Stephen reviews methods by which you can measure negotiation performance, in essence giving the reader the ability to measure the results of putting the Contract Negotiation Handbook's advice into practice!Overall, this book more than makes good on its promise of being indispensable. This cook book pleasantly surprised me. I had no idea eggs could be the star ingredient in so many amazing mouthwatering dishes. I found these authors approach to the topic of eggs very efficient. They start with sharing All About Eggs. I found this most helpful because buying eggs has become as complicated as buying milk. There are so many kinds. Often times I don’t understand the labels on the egg containers. These authors help readers realize the difference between AA – A – B – Peewee – Small – Med – etc. and other information on the box.I appreciated the section on Decoding Egg Cartons too! Again great job of informing the reader to the difference between Cage-Free. Free Range and other terms. Then the two page beautiful color spread of the several different types of eggs used in cooking. All the way from Quail, to Ostrich and everything in-between.I found the Anatomy of an Egg section most fascinating. I didn’t know an egg had so many parts! Grin! Then the authors start with cooking Techniques under the section titled Eggs 101 Basics and how to handle and store eggs – great stuff.Then the recipes start with Sauces and Condiments section. I’d love to try to make my own Mayo, Egg Butter and Hollandaise Sauce. The next section is Pasta Dough and then a chapter on Breads. I’d like to try the Brioche Buns, Challah and Soft Pretzels, they looked yummy. Next section was Morning recipes. Oh, I think I want to try them all. But top on the list are the Egg Clouds, Eggs Benedict, 9 different types of quiche; 9 different kinds of pancakes and 9 different Freitas recipes. Then there are Snacks. Some of my top favorites to try are Corn and Green Onion Fritters with Bacon-Honey Drizzle; Parmesan Popcorn Puffs and 9 different kinds of Deviled eggs.The Afternoon section has some yummy soups and salads with 9 different egg salads recipes. Then the Night chapter. There are a few I want to try, Croque-Madome – Shrimp OkonomiYaki (Omelet Pancake) Spaetzle with Swedish Meatballs – Savory Strata.Last but not least are the Sweets. I’d like to try Spicy Chocloate Mousse, Vanilla Bean Semi Freddo Bars – Crème Brulee, Peaches “N”Cream Cake, Grape Fruit – Poppy Seed Pound Cake and 9 different Frozen Custards, and Chocolate-Orange Souffle.This is a beautiful hardback book with lovely color pictures for many of the recipes listed. Each recipe has ingredients that are easy to find and instructions that are simple to follow. The authors do list the servicing size on the top of the recipe but they don’t list the prep time. The reader can easily locate the cooking time at the end of the recipe; along with tips to make the recipe easier to make and things to watch out for.I highly recommend this lovely, versatile cook book every kitchen should have. It starts with the basics and builds the info up preparing the reader to make the first recipes in the book. This will be my go to book for healthy, easy meals (some you can make ahead) for my family. I was excited to receive the book, having had it pre-ordered at the urging of my SO. I dove into the book when I received it. The shrimp okonomiyaki pictures reminded me of a trip to Japan. The salade lyonnaise reminded me of so many things topped with a fried or a poached egg that I wanted to try making.I had two dozen eggs in the fridge and a number of ingredients ready to go when the weekend rolled around and I would have time to prepare the foods.The photographs in the book are stunningly beautiful. The creative team has clearly put a lot of effort into the preparation of the food and the making of the photographs in the book. I appreciate the many recipes that include multiple variations like buttermilk pancakes, quiche, frittata, deviled eggs, and others.What I didn't like in the book:-Tiny font in the ingredient lists. More than once I needed to pull the book up close to my face or lean in really close to read the small numbers in the fractions listed in the ingredients. There's lots of white space on the pages, surely some of it could be sacrificed to use a larger font?-Spelling errors. There's a number of them, and they're not simply homophones that would be missed by a spell checker. ("Ingridients", page 119 as an example)-Recipe that just doesn't work as written. The Spaetzle With Swedish Meatballs was what sold my SO on the book. It was the "I gotta have it" factor of the book. I found two serious errors in the recipe. 1: The meatball recipe calls for "Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the soaked bread with any milk remaining in the bowl. Stir in the beef, turkey, egg, salt, and pepper, mixing gently to combine the ingredients thoroughly without overworking them."If followed literally, you add the pomade, the measured ingredients, the beef, and the turkey to the aromatics that are still in the HOT SKILLET, which would somewhat brown the meat and lead to bad meatballs. Luckily I figured it out later when the instructions said "Cover the bowl and refrigerate the meatball mixture for at least 30 minutes." The aromatics get added to the pomade in the bowl, not the pomade in the bowl being added to the skillet.2: Did the writer actually try to make spaetzle without a spaetzle maker and press the dough through a colander? I don't have any better way to say that this will lead to frustration and tears. I ended up with a layer of dough that cooked itself to the bottom of the colander while I tried to push it through colander with a spatula, then a bench scraper.That did not work. I ended up pitching the dough and boiling a bag of noodles I had on hand. The meatballs and sauce were delicious. The spaetzle was a failure.I'm looking forward to going back to the book in the future for the brioche buns, the egg bhurji, and the avgolemono soup. But that will have to wait for another weekend.

I was looking for a book that had recipes that celebrated eggs as the main ingredient. This book has some recipes that do that, but most of the recipes just used eggs IN the ingredients or as an accessory (like a salad with an egg).One thing that has been useful is the salad dressing recipes. They're great!

I really wanted to love this book, I have had it on my wish list for what seems like ages. Finally purchased it and am not so excited about it. Most of the recipes are Korean-food influenced, which is fine, but not what I was expecting. I tend to have a difficult time finding ingredients required for most Asian food so I'm sure I'm going to be running into the same problem. Also, the recipes are extremely labor-intensive it seems. I know good food usually takes time, but I don't think any of the recipes I could ever serve for breakfast because I'd have to get up in the middle of the night to start making them. Aside from pancakes and the Dutch Baby and I already make those for breakfast. So, I can't say I'd recommend the book but the food does look delicious and sooner or later I might put it to use.

Good info, fun and delicious recipes, but way more Asian influence than advertised. Hard to find and afford the ingredients.

This book is perfect for any egg lover. The recipes are doable, Ranges from slightly time-consuming to not too complicated. Some recipes like the hollandaise sauce will need to be tried over again to perfect. I love this book.

Seuss' characteristic drawings carry and extend the text through mazelike streets, over colorful checkerboard landscapes, into muddy blue "slumps," through heady highs when fame results from success at the game of life, and through dark, lonely confrontations with graveyard-like fears in times of solitude. I read this book several times to my class of 5th graders every year- because I feel like it really speaks a lot about life. I work in a Title I school, where we are really focusing on getting all of our students to succeed- via whatever path they choose after high school. Many of our children had never been out of the county before this year, when we took them on a field trip across the state to a zoo. I feel like this book not only encourages them, but also kind of gives them a heads up of the reality of "later life". Sometimes you aren't on top of the world, and you do get lost, and you do have to keep going to try to get out of your rut. And you don't want to be caught with the people who are just "waiting around"...we want them to be proactive and do something about it. I save up all year and purchase each of my students a copy and write a note to them individually, so that they know that they have someone who is in their corner, really pushing for them. That being said, I also read this to my own small children- because they just really enjoy the story, and all of the pictures.

Classic Dr. Seuss story. What more needs to be said?We purchased one copy for each of our kids. We have their coaches, teachers, etc. sign the book after each season with a little message. We plan to give them the books when they graduate from high school. What's really neat is they are 6 and 11 and have no clue we have been doing this. Hopefully we can keep that up and it makes a nice surprise and keepsake for them.

I gave this book to my stepchildren when they graduated from college. I read it myself in my 30s because I was a freelance writer, and this simple book helped me gather the courage to open myself to all the possibilities. I had a very successful career as a freelance writer of only non-fiction. In my retirement, I need to read this again as I'm now writing and indie publishing serious mid-grade/young adult fiction as Pleasant Oliver and once again, I need its boost of enthusiasm and courage for all the wonderful possibilities and opportunities that are going to come my way! In Spring 2018, I will give it my great nephew as he graduates from high school, and in later years, I will give it my other great nieces and nephews when they graduate from high school--maybe again when they graduate from college!

I bought two copies of this book for my children. Once they complete a grade in school, I will have their teachers sign it, and I will give them the book with notes from all their teachers on the day they graduate. Granted, I stole this idea from facebook, but it's so cute and Doctor Suess is such a great author.I have read it to them once and will read it to them every year before school starts. It's an adorable and inspirational book to remind them to keep pushing forward. Dr. Suess was the first author I ever read (The Foot Book, to be exact) and I while I have seen this one all over the internet, I had never read it before I bought it for my kids.The product itself came to me in two days, I have Prime, and there were a few nicks on the corners of the book. But I wouldn't say they're overly damaged or whatnot. Just don't expect the product to come in perfect condition. If you're going to steal my idea, the one I stole that is, I recommend storing the books in air tight bags in between readings and having them signed.

I paid nearly $20 for the hardcover book and then paid to import it to Ecuador. Wow am I upset that the publisher printed the words and pages the opposite direction of the cover. For $20 in the kindle age there really is no excuse for a publisher that sells thousands and thousands of copies to product work like this. I have read others complaining about the same issue. You need to check your quality control and be prepared to give a full refund when this happens. Then again, how hard is it to open a book and check it before you sell it???? Really really really annoying and is VERY upsetting since the taxes and shipping to import were more than the messed up book!!!!! GGGRRRrrrrrrrr Dr. Suess.

We got 2 of these for our son and daughter's teachers to sign as they grow up (to give them when they graduate). We're also writing letters to put within the pages over the years. The books are of great quality and should stand the test of time. I've also seen them used as 'advice books' where guests at graduation parties write little bits of advice for the graduates.

What is there to say about this book that hasn't already been said?! It makes a great Graduation gift (I bought 8 of them on Amazon for HALF of the list price!) and is a timeless classic.This is the exact same quality, hardcover book (with dustcover!) but at half the price. Thanks, Amazon!

As described, wonderful book. I got a copy for high school graduation and have decided to get my toddler a copy and have his teachers and therapist's write little notes overy the years and give to him at his graduation. He has severe autism and I want him to be able to look back at all of the people he may not remember, but they helped get him where he's going.

You can tell this was Kelly's capstone project. He said he spent 4 years writing it and the hard work paid off. I've read most of his work and I highlighted more sections of this book than his others. A book for anyone who wants true lasting joy

Very excellent. I had seen Matthew in person several years ago. He makes a good and passionate and a full life attainable and what we should strive for. I would like our Bible Study group to all read this book and discuss it. I plan on rereading this selection and to take note so I am able to read and review the valuable points that Matthew had stressed. Our lives are worth more than we make of them. I could write on and on how impressed I was with this book!

Matthew Kelly is very motivational. He mixes the Catholicism with his motivational writing very well. If you are looking for a motivational book with Christianity mixed into it, this is your book. Great author, look forward to reading his other books.

The secret writings of Matthew Kelly. Apparently Kelly was advised to stop writing about hearing God's voice. Of course, anyone who listen knows that God speaks. Thankfully Matthew Kelly continued to listen and to pass on what he heard, even if he no longer talks about a personal source. He is a glorious defender of Catholicism and he provides practical advice on how to become a better version of yourself.

I have not completed reading the book. I am finding this book inspiring.I look forward to my reading time each day. This book has provided mewith answers to some problems I needed help with but did not know where to turn.

I can't think of enough good things to say about this book and Matthew Kelly. It was inspiring for me. The young author is certainly a messenger who has be bless with the spirit of God. Everyone should read it, I am sure we all will not get the same message but will be inspired in some way just the same. I will read it again and again.

Matthew Kelly shares an inspirational walk with God and how to dilute meaningless "stuff" in our lives that keep us from being close to God. His insight to listening is very good - he hits the nail on the head. He also distinguishes the difference between blessings and what we Westerners perceive as our rights. An overinflated ego doesn't notice the miracles in life which keeps God's plan hidden. I shared this book with my 25 year-old son. He is reading a little of it everyday.
