Great book!!!Reads like a medical school course in prostate cancer.Even though it's a big book, the author has made it very understandable for the common layman. Even though there are medical terms used in the book they are explained where anybody can understand what Dr. Walsh is talking about.As a person with active prostate cancer, Dr. Walsh helps to take the mystery out of the subject, fully explains all of the options that are available and makes it less scary (if that is possible).Information is power and ignorance is dangerous. Learn about the "beast" and what works to kill it. Kill the beast and live your life.I would recommend the printed book over the ebook, then you can pull it off the shelf if you have any questions.

Others have written of this in their reviews, but I want to add my voice to that chorus:Dr. Walsh is a surgeon. He knows how to do prostate surgery. That is fine, but guys need to know that there are other options. This book gives only passing consideration to non-surgical treatments. If you read the sections on radiation, for example, the writing style changes noticeably, indicating that those parts were written by someone other than Dr Walsh who are experts in that field. I understand this, as Dr Walsh has less experience with those treatments. To his credit, he gives acknowledgement to several colleagues for those sections.Before signing up for surgery, see a radiation oncologist. If your urologist hesitates before referring you to one, you might want to consider a different urologist.All that said, This book is still a go-to source for prostate cancer information. It seems to alternate between a hopeful and hopeless tone, which I found confusing at times. There are even what I took to be contradictions, with one chapter saying "don't get this treatment because it doesn't work" with other chapters saying "here's how you get this treatment". Most guys will, like me, read lots and lots of articles once they get that "you have prostate cancer" diagnosis. This book needs to be read for sure, even though it could probably use a new revision.I am not going to advocate any particular treatment. After all, I'm just a patient.

In 2012--I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. My Urologist stated that he was giving me a book to read: I immediately assumed--a booklet or something not exceeding 100 pages!!?? Dr Walsh's book is over 600 pages!! Every man--and especially every Black man should read Dr. Walsh's book: on page 61--I received one of the greatest revelations of my life: "The men most likely to have Prostate Cancer--are Black men in Atlanta,Ga!!! The women most likely to have Breast Cancer--are White women in--San Francisco, CA??? These are substantiated medical realities--although the cause(s) were not stated!!??There is a collaborator--Janet Worthington--who is not a Urologist--but a writer: Ms. Worthington--took the task of writing Dr. Walsh's book in a style/language--so that the average person would be able to understand medical language--that would otherwise be impossible to adequately comprehend.This book is too detailed--to attempt any kind of summary of its contents. I assure you--if you purchase--"Surviving Prostate Cancer"--you will have made one of the best investments of your life!! Do not--I beg you--make excuses for not purchasing a copy of this book--immediately--it could save your life!!

As an MD and now one finding out I have stage 4 prostate cancer, (T1c N1 M0) this book is invaluable. Consider it your second opinion. I have an excellent urologist who told me to read this book as my PSA's are normal with active cancer. The book outlines diagnosis, work up, who should be followed, and who should undergo biopsies. Dr Walsh outlines therapies per stage. It is a bit technical for lay people, but well worth reading. Do not trust a PSA, ask also for a PHI. Get surgery ( if needed) at a center of excellence, and most of all, do your research and have a top urologist. I had 1 node positive,found post op, despite the negative pre op work up and this is curable, or will extend my life 10-15 years! . Had I waited for my PSA to go over 4, I would be seriously ill , terminal, as this tumor does not produce PSA and by Gleason score, highly aggressive. That is also explained in book with tables and facts.

I was just diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and this book came highly recommenced. With this type of Cancer, lifestyle and diet over the long term (>10 years) are critical ingredients in both prevention and management.Even after diagnosis there are a LOT of options and you must be able to discuss them intelligently with your doctor. This book is the first step.Dr. Walsh presents the essential information in both summary and detailed form. There is a lot of information on the subject, including some really harebrained nonsense, for example I just got an email telling how Prostrate Cancer is really a CIA conspiracy and you should buy this guy's "herbal remedy" which will fix everything. The only real counter to this nonsense is real knowledge based on real facts: here are the facts!Reading the book has made me much more confident that I will "die from something else", since I am 72 that works out to approx 20 years. It is scary to formally work out your life expectancy as per Dr. Walsh's instructions, however I also found that I have already done 90% of my "do before you die" list and expect to have the time to do most of the rest.(UPDATE) It is inevitable that ANY published material (book or whatever) is at least 2 years out of date due entirely to the necessary review and editing needed. I had a long talk with my Urologist today and there are many new options available. This book is great for being a "knowledgeable consumer", but is NO substitute of professional advice for your particular situation!

The first reviewer (one star) took a lot of time to discredit the accuracy of this book. I don't think "Ladyhawk" is really speaking to David Wallace-Wells's argument fairly. The future is, to say the least, uncertain, but can be understood to evolve within the bounds of wide extremes, each with a different probability. For instance, an as-yet-unknown technology might appear tomorrow that will solve or diminish the problem (a point the author makes repeatedly within the first chapter). Almost impossible, but possible. I think his point is , given the overwhelming consensus that human-caused carbon emissions (and other emissions that feedback loops will produce) is massively life-threatening to our children and grandchildren, we can't afford to wait for certainty. And so he's assembled facts from many credible sources to bolster his argument that we're in trouble.A couple of such facts that struck me were these: of the total quantity of intentional carbon burning that has occurred over the last 400 years, over half has happened since the premier of Seinfeld. 85% has occurred since the END of WWII. The compounding of global growth has resulted in enormous momentum for continued carbon burning.I don't understand why there is so much heat in the arguments of Ladyhawk and like-minded critics of those who raise this issue. I won't speculate on its sources. But I'd simply invite potential readers of this book to consider that when the greatest human-caused loss of life in human history -- World War II -- began, no one accurately predicted how it would go; how much the lives of people who lived within its theaters of operations would be changed (or abbreviated). That is one of the points that David Wallace-Wells invites readers to consider: that this WILL be worse than we think, because many are oblivious, or have a self-interest in the status quo, or maintain an optimism that will probably prove to be misplaced.Amazon lets you read the first few pages. It is extremely well-researched—the author consulted many top climate scientists, there are copious citations and the notes section comprises a large portion of the book—yet presented in an accessible style. As in the original New York magazine article of which this is a book-length treatment, the effects of temperature increases of more than 2 degrees are covered in-depth, going up to about 6 degrees.The other half contains the author’s very literate and thought-provoking musings on the impact climate chaos is likely to have on fundamental structures such as capitalism, ethics, and our conception of history. I was impressed by the author’s restraint in not indulging in speculation. His points are well-informed and backed up with solid reasoning.The information contained in this book is extremely important, because it sounds the alarm at a time when immediate action must be taken, because it forces one to question so many fundamental assumptions behind contemporary life in a developed country, because it is founded in rigorous research on a topic that is of overwhelming significance. It raises and grapples with very big and pressing questions that will be seared onto the minds of millions over the coming century and beyond.

This is truly the most important book I have ever read, and one of the best written. It is so good, so complete, and so well-organized and argued that I immediately stopped writing my new book on the same subject, The Anthropogenic Apocalypse, after having worked on it for a year, because there is just no way that I, or any author, could outdo David Wallace-Wallace, or even come close. He has done a gigantic amount of solid research from a wide variety of sources, made the results frighteningly clear, and organized his science-based conclusions it into a horrifying, but probably accurate, depiction of the most horrendous catastrophes that wiil wreak havoc and death on the earth if the people and nations of our pale blue dot do not immediately undertake major serious programs to halt global warming – if it is not already too late. I will happily return to finishing my memoir of the sexual revolution and cheer as The Uninhabitable Earth heads to the top the charts. How could anyone improve on the Chronicles of Narnia? C.S. Lewis is first; Tolkein is second. No one else is even in the same game. This series is intended for children, but really, much of it is wasted on the young. Read the books to your kids--or any kid you can shanghai--they'll love them, but you'll love them more. I hope the movies will be worthy of the books.

The Complete Chronicles of Narnia (text only) by C. S. Lewis,P. Baynes I bought this copy because for one, I personally did not want a "movie tie-in" version, I wanted to have a hardcover edition that contained all of the books in one that I could keep for years and pass down to my children - in short, good quality, tasteful, with pictures.It was described as being "Used - Good", but it arrived in excellent condition (no noticeable tears on the book itself with only slight page wear). This version came with a book jacket which is identical to the hard cover itself, so I threw away the jacket which was well worn. I sure hope these books don't go out of print, but if they do, you'll be glad you purchased this particular version, because it'll be passed down the family.

This is a beautiful paperback box set of the Narnia collection, that so many of us grew up with. The covers are nice, thick and protective of the pages inside, which are of good paper stock. I have no print fading or errors that I've noticed.The art on the outter box is beautiful on all sides, with a little read up at the top. For paperbacks, I believe this is the way to go! Highly recommended!

 This is a really lovely storybook collection based on all seven books in the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Those include: “The Magician's Nephew”, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”, “The Horse and His Boy”, “Prince Caspian”, “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”, “The Silver Chair”, and “The Last Battle”. As the coloring book is slightly longer than average size and there are seven books covered, each is only touched on lightly. The coloring book can be used as an fun addition while you are reading the stories but it does not replace them.The designs are based on the original artwork by Pauline Baynes from the books written and published in the 1950's. In some cases, the artwork has been turned into what I call “wallpaper” style designs with repeated patterns.The designs include considerably more black in shading than usual for coloring books. That is because the original artwork was just that – artwork and not coloring designs. I've found that utilizing the black as shading is what works best for me with this type of design. I've run across it before when original artwork has been presented in this format.On a personal note, the designs bring back memories from my own life. I was a big fan of these books as a child and I would read them over and over again. Once I had children, I would read books to them before bedtime each night and this was a favorite, especially of my late son. He also would read the books over and over again on his own.I am now looking forward to reading them to my grandchildren and I will now also have a book of designs that I have colored to go along with them. I will admit that coloring these designs is a bittersweet experience as I spend as much time thinking of my son as I do in coloring.This is what I found as I colored in this book and tested the paper with my coloring medium. Love these books, but the font size is much too small on the Narnia Box Set (with movie pictures on box, linked below). It is advertised as for Grade 3 and up, but likely only Jr. High and older would be comfortable with this small of a Font Size. We are surprised that Harper Collins would publish such a small text Font Size, knowing that many children would be their audience.***It would be very helpful if Amazon would include the Font Size in the product description for books and other literature.*** (Surprised that they don't already include this.)Chronicles of Narnia Box SetWe are sending this box set back regrettably, and instead ordering this 2000-published box set, which is a couple inches taller, hoping it has an adequate font size for young readers (link below). Like many business books, this book is interesting and thought provoking. It is not a step by step manual that you can follow and apply to your business. There are many interesting examples of innovation that worked for various companies but may be disastrous if used by others. If you are a student and don't have any real world business experience, you'll be fascinated by this book. If you are a seasoned, self employed business person, you'll be intrigued and this book may get you thinking about new and innovative pricing stragities. However I expect that most small business people will gain little from this book and keep doing business as they have and only dream of being able to apply what they just read to their business.

This book tells some excellent stories about innovation in pricing. The focus is B2C (pricing of consumer goods), but that does not mean it is irrelevant to B2B. As we have seen time after time on the Internet, consumer models and applications often go on to spawn disruptive innovations in business markets.I found Chapter 3 on price wars in China, Chapter 4 on thinking small (which has some good points about Bottom of the Pyramid markets and what we can learn from them), Chapter 5 on automatic mark downs, and chapter 9 on pay for performance models especially useful. In chapter 3 on price wars in China there is a nice light explanation of Incremental Break Even Analysis and how it intersects with strategic choices in pricing competition. When reading this section I suggest you pop up your favorite spreadsheet and build the model then run a few scenarios on it to get a feel for its behavior (unless you are one of those rare people who can understand the behavior of an equation just by running it in your own mind). Then apply the model to yourself and your competitors and see what pricing decisions it leads to. The historical treatment of automatic markdowns at Filene's basement (I am writing in this in Cambridge, just across the Charles River from Filenes) and the analysis of buying psychology are also compelling. Pay for performance will be, I believe, one of the most disruptive pricing strategies going forward, and the more different examples one can read the better. I am glad that they included the classic Tom Nagle article "Money-Back Guarantee ... and other ways you never thought to buy your drugs" (the article is available on-line at LeveragePoint). There are useful 'rules of thumb' at the end of this chapter on when pay performance is likely to work. (Other chapters also have this feature, which is a nice feature of the book - the authors give you some guidance on when a particular pricing strategy is likely to work.). On the other hand, although the authors introduce two-sided markets in the chapter on Google, they do not unfold the implications for pricing and pricing strategy. Two-sided markets are likely to eat through traditional markets everywhere they can be applied (see Catalyst Code by David S. Evans; Richard Schmalensee).This book does not do for B2C pricing what Strategy and Tactics of Pricing (Nagle, Hogan and Zale) does for B2B. It does not have an integrative framework that can help one think through B2C pricing. Sadly, I do not think such a book has been written or such a framework developed. This may be because B2C pricing is very much a part of brand strategy, and any integrative approach to B2C pricing would also have to be a book on branding (and how branding is changing in a social media world). Pricing experts and brand builders are seldom the same people and often do not work well together, but a transformative book on B2C pricing will require input from both sides.

I got this book while in John Zhang's pricing class at Wharton. He basically taught us everything that is in the book. I never knew that pricing was such a complex tool for companies to use. And I never realized how ignorant people are to pricing strategies. this book really teaches you a lot. I cannot recommend it more to someone interested in marketing, or any concept of business for that matter.Not only are the concepts in this book essential for domination in the business world, but they can help in any situation. I really urge you to read it. It shows you how to think outside of the box. John Zhang taught how to look at pricing in a different way, and now I approach every situation differently. It's just amazing how much one book can change your outlook on life.Get it.

They also go into detail about why pricing wars work in some markets and give an interesting history of discounting methods.There's not really a conclusion to the book nor does it culminate in a summary; rather, the authors stay true to their initial premise that pricing is an explicit activity, not governed by an "invisible hand of the market." They write that pricing should be informed by business and customer context so each example is a way of getting you to think about what might work for different markets and customer groups.If you're looking for a professional pricing book that will help you actually set prices, try "The Strategy and Tactics of Pricing" by Thomas T. Nagle and Reed K. Holden. For a less technical treatment of pricing, I'd suggest "The Price Advantage" by Michael V. Varin or "Pricing with Confidence" by Reed K Holden. If you liked "Freakonomics" and are interested in more detail about pricing in the real world, try "Why Popcorn Costs So Much at the Movies" by Richard B. McKenzie.

His passion is an area of learning that the scholars of his day consider dead. He’s selfless and service-oriented. He can’t help but show concern for others even if they don’t appreciate it or reciprocate. He’s utterly without ego, cooperating instead of competing. His greatest strengths are dreaming and loving. He doesn’t try to dominate any woman or man around him. He isn’t a professional killer, or in a profession that involves killing, or violence, nor is he driven to slay, or even prone to occasional, angry outbursts. He doesn’t drink or roughhouse, or think a great night out involves harassing women at bars. He isn’t trying to become wealthy through some impressive, high-flying career that might not actually accomplish much for the world, the way the novel’s Sisyphean alchemist is. Lazlo, in fact, tries to help another man become wealthy without expecting anything in return, specifically because he knows how much stress the pressure to “succeed” has produced in this acquaintance.So you should like Lazlo, right? He’s a great guy. He works diligently to protect and advance the bank of scholarship which serves society and provides it with hope. If he’s poor, it’s because others created a class, put him in it, and are trying to keep him there. He’s ever helpful and polite, doesn’t beat anyone or get into fights, and never stabs anyone in the back.The novel's heroine comes to love this man by entering his dreams. That is to say, she learns who he is on the inside, and discovers that his inner world is far more appealing than her outer one. That’s why their relationship grows into love before they ever physically touch.Lazlo may be contrasted with the character of his lover’s father, a testosterone-filled warrior who fought bravely for his people, and who committed atrocities in doing so that caused him to be estranged from his own daughter. Outwardly, he appears strong, brave, noble, and heroic, if repressed and a tad rough around the edges. In reality, his past experiences have left him broken and ruined inside. He is a tormented shell of the man he might have been had he approached life in a different way.This is healthy fare, then, for men thinking about who they are and what their values should be, and for women thinking about interacting with men and what makes for a good man. Wherever you may come down on these matters as a reader, there is plenty to consider, because in the end Lazlo is revealed as a complex person who demonstrates as much genuine heroism as any hero in literature.Strange the Dreamer is categorized as a young adult novel, but it’s suitable for adults of any age. The lovers are Lazlo and Sarai. Lazlo is the main character, but it did not surprise me to learn that Laini Taylor originally envisioned a different main character for this book, and presumably that was Sarai. Sarai is the daughter of the Goddess of Despair and of a human man whom the goddess raped. The author stresses that one cannot learn about strangers by looking at them; Sarai has the gift of being able to look inside them, and it is this which drives the story, so I can see why Sarai would have made a compelling main character. Personally, I happen to love complex supernatural characters, so I am sure I would have liked that.But I think Ms. Taylor had to shift the focus more to Lazlo, because some of the most entrancing and beautiful parts of the book take place inside his dreams, where Sarai is a visitor. So instead of focusing on the trials and tribulations of a supernatural being whose existence is altered when an unusual human appears, this is presented more as the story of a man’s gradual self-realization and personal growth.I can also see why the author expanded the book, which she initially planned as a standalone novel, to a duology; having created a world so beautiful, one would want to allow one's readers to linger in it. That is, after all, one of the reasons why we sometimes choose to read an extended story when we could have watched a two-hour film or seen a television show.I would advise you not to worry if it initially feels like you’re not following the story. Go with the flow as in a dream, and you'll be rewarded as the events and characters coalesce and the story becomes clearer. Then you won’t want to put the book down.The novel has a certain Romeo and Juliet-esque quality in that the lovers become progressively divorced from their own societies as they grow closer to one another. There are strong messages about control and freedom; the more certain characters seek to control others, the more rapidly the social orders upon which their control depends erode. This leads to some satisfaction as certain selfish or dysfunctional characters get their comeuppances, but it produces a running tension generated by hatred on both sides which goes unresolved. There are clear messages about the futility of ongoing conflict, war, and hate, as contrasted with the transcendence (and sometimes the tragedy) of love. The author goes out of her way not to trivialize death, and characters do not die for entertainment in this novel. Death has consequences, and the consequences play a major role.Naturally, dreams also play a major role: When societies collide, whose dreams control? Who dreams whom, and why, and how? This is a “Western society-meets-other society” fantasy, so as I was reading, it called to my mind the Adventures of Esplandián, the myth of El Dorado, and tales of the Fountain of Youth in which Europeans invented fairy tale creatures and fanciful places while pondering life beyond the horizon.Initially, Lazlo is destined to be a monk, presumably within Christendom, but as he heads east he encounters a polytheistic world. The pantheon there is complicated. Deities have their ups and downs, and strengths and weaknesses. The eastern city is enmeshed in an ancient conflict which seems incapable of resolution. Its populations live in close proximity, but separately, and look upon one other with mutual hostility stemming from horrific events they experienced during early conquests. In this respect the fantasy has a clear basis in reality, providing food for thought and reflection. The neglected city that Lazlo is driven to see for himself has been stricken by the Goddess of Oblivion, who has devoured its name. Now that no one can remember the city's name, its people call it Weep. This resonates with me in the context of colliding cultures, where conquerors have often sought to erase indigenous societies and cast them into oblivion. Again, what happens to the dreams of the invaded?My favorite quote from this novel encapsulates much of what it is ultimately about: “For what [are people] but the sum of all the scraps of their memor[ies] and experience[s]: a finite set of components with an infinite array of expressions[?]” In Strange the Dreamer, personalities are malleable, dreams are strange, strange is good, and the passions and obsessions that spring from our dreams are our destinies, not our choice.

I've never posted a review before (not even for the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy which I LOVED) but I had to say what a beautiful book this is. I would give anything to have even a 10th of Laini Taylor's imagination. I know the description says YA but this book is for anyone who loves dreams and understands that nightmares are real.

For now, I'm going to give this 5 stars. I'm a little disappointed it ended on a "To Be Continued," only because that was unexpected. I expected resolution. But I'm hopeful I will enjoy the full tale...This book is beautiful. It's like poetry for the novel/fantasy reader. I don't really like poetry, but that is what this is. Taylor writes will such magic and flair, it is impossible to imagine this anything but a magical place. Her use of vocabulary--Strange, Weep, Unseen, Godslayer, godspawn, vengeance--all her words carry such beautiful importance. It's truly a work of art, and I don't say that often. It isn't a book I could read in one sitting because you have to absorb it.As for the plot... fascinating. She has such an imagination. Her characters have depth. There is all range of human emotions in one, from love to hate, despair to joy... And honestly, the cliff hanger ending is beautifully created, and terrible. So I'm desperate to see how it ends. And hopeful.

Gosh, I wish I could write fantasy like Laini Taylor. Her worlds are so imaginative and complex, her characters appealing and well-rounded, her plots a carefully crafted and devastating blend of light and darkness, hope and heartbreak. And her writing. Sweet blood candy, her writing is out of this world. Full of imagery, luscious detail, and evocative word choices. Every time I read one of Laini's stories, even if I have some quibbles about it, I'm reminded of why I admire her work so much.STRANGE THE DREAMER is many things. It's a tale of lost cities and a centuries-old clash between gods, their half-blood children, and humankind. It's an ode to libraries, alchemy, and quest stories. It blurs the already-faint lines between dreams, nightmares, and reality. It takes themes such as war, love, knowledge versus power, self-discovery, and "what makes a monster?", then stirs them into an otherworldly concoction with hints of melancholy as blue as the godspawns' skin and the gold shimmer of wonder. It's witty and aching and frightening in parts; and when you finish reading it, part of you doesn't want to leave its absorbing world... and part of you wonders how our poor heroes will find any resolution to their conflicts in next year's sequel.I'm not sure if I have a favorite character from STRANGE THE DREAMER. There's Lazlo, the titular dreamer, who's kind, intelligent, eager to learn, happy to help, and desperate to know where he came from. And there's Sarai, the Muse of Nightmares, a half-human girl who screams moths at night and is haunted by other people's horrors when she sleeps. And Eril-Fane, the Godslayer who saved the city of Weep fifteen years earlier but is tormented and conflicted by his past. And the other godspawn like the sweet "gardener" Sparrow, the impulsive and (literally) ignitable Ruby, the sobering rain-gatherer Feral... and Minya. The oldest of the godspawn yet trapped in a 6-year-old's body, she binds the ghosts of Weep to do her bidding - and while it's easy to understand her desire to protect her remaining kindred, her hunger for revenge against the city's humans is so relentless and absolute that it chills you to the bone.What's keeping me from giving STRANGE THE DREAMER 5 stars, though, is the "book of two halves" dilemma. The first half is stunning and well-paced as it introduces readers to her invented world and her large cast of characters. But the second half, despite the gorgeous dream sequence interactions between Lazlo and Sarai, was a bit of a slog. It's overwritten and much too slow, which unfortunately weakens what should be a devastating ending.In short, I didn't love STRANGE THE DREAMER as much as other Laini Taylor books like DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE or BLACKBRINGER. Yet it's still victorious in showing what a whimsical and incomparable talent Laini Taylor is and the fresh air she continues to inject into YA fantasy. No other writer in that genre is quite like her, and that's why I continue to marvel at her work, one book after the next.

I cannot believe that there are NO photographs in this book about Corfu ! Who cares what Clark writes as a personal memoir, tell me something that is of use to me on my trip... hotels, restaurants, side trips, cruises etc.

I did not read after the first few pages because I wasn't looking for a travel guide; however, it is well written.

I was given a review copy of Corfu & the Ionian A Notebook and was immediately whisked away to the homeland of my Papou through the rich and fluid writing style of author Richard Clark. Though I’ve visited Corfu a dozen times, Mr. Clark’s research and first hand encounters added more depth to what I’d been told or studied over the years.Mr. Clark does a fine job of taking the reader with him to the Byzantine style churches, the sparkling crystal blue beaches, the many spectacular vistas draped in olive groves and cypress trees, the countryside dotted with wildflowers, and small villages with men playing cards and drinking ouzo. While doing so, he discusses the history, both mythical and well documented, along with the culture, people, Mediterranean cuisine, and the influences of those who invaded and occupied the island over the centuries. In the back of the book Mr. Clark includes phrases for “getting by in Greek”, a historical guideline, and Greek Food at a glance, making it a handy take along guide for anyone traveling to Corfu and the Ionian Islands.I most enjoyed his scrutiny of the current economic climate and its affect on the Greek people. He is up to date with his information and truly gives great insight into the upheaval, but maintains that the Corfiots are proud of their island and continue to welcome the many tourists who seek to indulge in their island’s beauty and tranquility.

Richard Clark’s love of Greece is evident on every page. It is a quirky mix of history, culture and reminiscences as the author takes us with him on his journey. He really gets under the skin of Greece and recaptured some wonderful memories for me as I read it. Ideal for anyone who has ever been to Corfu or is thinking of visiting. It will definitely get you in the mood – don’t forget the ouzo.
